The Sawtooth Oak (Quercus acutissima) is a non-native tree to North America coming from East Asia, but that doesn’t stop it from being one of the fastest growing, annually heavy producing, and cold-hardy oak trees you can plant on your property to improve habitat and food plots. It is highly adaptive to soil conditions but prefers deep, well-drained soil. The Sawtooth Oak will start producing highly desired acorns within 6-10 years and produces the best when planted near other oaks for pollination.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAWTOOTH OAK
Plant at least two Sawtooth oak trees nearby for pollination. A minimum of 30′ for tree spacing when planting Oaks. They can grow in various soil types, but I recommend avoiding wet areas. These trees are tolerant of low pH and low fertility, but, as with any tree, when you raise fertility by providing adequate nutrients, they can produce even faster than I stated above. Requires at least 6 hours of full sun.
SHIPPING/PICK UP
Shipping to Plant Hardiness Zones 2-8 can be selected from the calendar at checkout. Oaks can be shipped and picked up in late March through April. Dormant bare-root trees must be planted in the spring, while trees in your area are dormant or beginning to break dormancy. You can select your ship date as you check out on the website. Free local pick up is available the last week in March and the first week in April. You can select your pick-up date when you check out on the website. Please call or message us to make an appointment to pick up your trees if you cannot make the date you selected.

Returns: We have been shipping plants around the country for quite some time now. We provide
healthy live plants. We take every effort to ensure that your plants are packed in a way that
maintains that health as they arrive to you. We can not be responsible for how plants are handled
when they leave our care or are handled by customers.
Tree care: If you plant your tree up on high dry ground they may need watered through the first
summer, if you plant too low and wet your trees may drown. Be careful of the herbicide you may
use around the tree (read the label). I want you and your trees to succeed but if you don't tube or
cage them the deer will eat your tree that night.
Hours: We do not keep regular hours. If you would like to visit the nursery, just call, send a
message or email. Anyone is more than welcome.
Selected pickup dates: Trees can be picked up in the spring as soon as you can dig in your soil.
Trees need to be picked by the end of April. Before picking up, please contact us letting us know
when you are planning to come so we can have your order ready for you when you arrive.
Shipping: When buying grafted trees, depending on the amount of trees you order will determine
the size box the trees will be shipped in. If you order 8 or fewer two-year-old trees, they will fit into a 66''x10''x10'' box. Ordering 9 to 16 two-year-old trees will fit into a 66''x15''x14'' box. Ordering 16 or more two year old trees will fill into 2 or more boxes, depending on the total amount of trees bought. Trees may need to be professionally pruned to fit in these boxes. Ship dates will be selected by you before completing you order. We ship trees from early March to late April. You should select a ship date that is suitable for the location you are planting your trees. Trees will ship through UPS on Monday’s, Tuesday’s, and Wednesday’s.
You will receive an email notification when your trees ship. When trees arrive, plant as soon as possible. If you cannot, it
would be best to heal them into soil or store in a cool place not allowing roots to freeze but not
allowing the trees to become warm.
If Tree Tube products are the only items you purchase then they will ship as soon as the order is
received. You may have to select a ship date but I can assure you if you are just ordering tree
tubes they will ship immediately. If Tree Tube products are purchased with trees, then they will
ship with the trees.
Due to the cost of shipping there will be a minimum of 4 trees that have to be purchased in order
for checkout to occur. Due to phytosanitary regulations, we do not ship to California. We also do not ship chestnut trees to Washington, Florida or Oregon State. Trees will be packaged correctly to meet the shipping requirements for Idaho and all other states.

The Burr Oak (Quercus macrocarpa), also known as Blue Oak, Mossy Overcup Oak, Prairie Oak, and Scrub oak, has the largest acorns of all native oaks, a long life span, very low tannin levels, and can thrive in many soil conditions. The native Swamp White Oak (Quercus bicolor), similar to the Burr Oak and native, grows almost anywhere. High and dry or along lower wetland edges and floodplains that hold water in the spring and can produce acorns within 4-5 years, making it one of the fastest-producing oak trees. The Swamp White Oak has the same low tannin, good-tasting acorns with the "fuzzy" or "mossy" cap, and will also thrive in better soil conditions to add variety to your wildlife plantings or restoration projects. This tree hybridizes with other white oaks, which allows it to grow quickly and begin feeding and attracting whitetail, turkeys, and other wildlife to your property. The Swamp White Oak has a very long life span of 300 years.

English oak (Quercus Robur) is one of the most dependable and most productive oak trees available to plant today in the white oak family. We offer trees in the 3- and 4-year age classes for sale. An English oak becomes fully productive at age 10. By planting a tree in this age class, you are years ahead of the game with bumper crops of acorns falling annually. English Oak looks almost exactly like White Oak (Quercus alba), and to the untrained eye, you may not know the difference, but there is a huge difference, as English Oak (Quercus Robur) produces year in and year out from a young age.
In contrast, white oak (Quercus alba) produces a bumper crop about every 10 years and does not produce until around age 25. Meanwhile, planting English oak of the size you will get from here, you're only a few years away from an annual production of preferred acorns. Introduced to this country in the early 1600s, English Oak (Quercus Robur) is what you hear people talking about when they are saying how great and productive the white oaks are on their property. The English Oak for sale is ripening and dropping acorns in October and into November here in Pennsylvania. Trees will reach a mature height of around 60'-80'. Suitable for plant hardiness zones 5-8.
