Persimmons rootstock
The Persimmons rootstock for sale is the perfect size if you’re looking to bench graft or plant to chip-bud, as these are 1/4” or larger with well-established roots. This persimmon rootstock is rooted so well due to our growing methods, as shown in the pictures. These are 90-chromosome persimmons, but they are compatible whether you are grafting Asian persimmons or American persimmons. These roots will push a tree into that 60′ range or above. They are extremely drought-tolerant with their extensive root system. Persimmon rootstock performs best when grown in well-drained, fertile loam soil with a pH range of 6 to 7. However, they are very adaptable to many soil types and conditions. If nutrient levels are adequate, Persimmon rootstock will tolerate even planting in heavy soils such as clay with a pH of 5.5. Persimmon rootstocks do not thrive in poorly drained soil. It is cold, hardy zones 4b-9. These are graded persimmon rootstocks with a diameter of 1/4″ to 3/8″. The terminal buds will be cut.

Shipping to Plant Hardiness Zones 4-8. Spring shipping will begin again in mid-March on Mondays as temperatures in my area allow and continue until the last Monday in April.
Dormant bare-root trees must be planted in the spring, while trees in your area remain dormant. You can select your ship date at checkout. If you are picking up your trees, typically, the first week in April is perfect for planting in Pennsylvania. Please call or send a message to make an appointment to pick up your trees.
