The Fall Draw™ Chinese Chestnut tree produces an abundant crop of sweet chestnuts every year. It is an excellent early producer (you will see chestnuts on your trees between 2-4 years). These trees produce a crop which is highly preferred by whitetail deer and very edible for human consumption as well. Its attractability mixed with its late drop (through October) make it the perfect hunting tree.

Description
FALL DRAW™ CHINESE CHESTNUT
Fall Draw™ Chinese Chestnut trees for sale are a fast growing chestnut tree for deer reaching heights of 40’ to 60’. These trees produce an abundant crop of sweet chestnuts every year without fail. They bloom well after the chance of frost. These Fall Draw™ Chinese Chestnuts have excellent resistance to blight. I have been growing from the same group of Chinese chestnuts for years.
The earliest I have ever seen the parent trees start dropping is October 8th. The latest has been October 23rd. Most other chestnut trees in Pennsylvania have finished dropping by the time October rolls around. This reason is why they are called Fall Draw™ and why they give you an advantage during hunting season! The trees grown from these parent trees will each be genetically different with various drop times from each individual tree from the last week in September through the in the last weeks in October. I have been noticing that a some of the new trees are holding and dropping chestnuts late, I’m seeing some trees that are still dropping nuts into the first weeks of November.
It is exceptionally hard to gather nuts from these trees because they are highly desired by deer. I gather every evening because there won’t be any left on the ground come morning and there is always an amazing amount of deer under this group of trees when they are dropping. These Fall Draw™ Chinese chestnut trees are planted and thriving as far North as Western NY in hardiness Zone 5 on my properties.
PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
Plant at least two chestnut trees in close proximity for pollination. A minimum of 35′ for tree spacing when planting Fall Draw™ Chinese Chestnut trees. They can grow in a wide variety of soil types, but I recommend avoiding wet or heavy clay soil. These trees are tolerant to low pH as well as low fertility. Requires at least 6 hours of full sun.
